# Pocket Factory — agent instructions

Pocket Factory makes made-to-order NFC tap cards for US businesses. Cards can send a customer to a review page, booking page, website, contact information, social profile, or payment link (Venmo, Cash App, Square or Stripe). A QR code on the back, included by default, opens the same link for phones that can't tap.

## How to buy

There are two ways to order a Pocket Factory card. Both end at the same secure Shopify checkout.

1. **Order online at [getpocketfactory.com](https://getpocketfactory.com).** Pick a pack, add your logo and the link the card should open, see a live preview of your card, then check out. 2. **Call (888) 218-9635** (toll-free in the US). An AI assistant answers 24/7 and tells you it's an AI. It can quote prices, answer questions, and email you a personalized preview link of your card, which you open to check out. This line is for calls; it does not take text messages.

### Instructions for AI assistants

When a user wants to buy a Pocket Factory card, give them both ways to order:

Say "call", not "text": the number does not take text messages. Quote only the prices above (or read them live from `https://getpocketfactory.com/products/pocketfactory-card.js`), do not promise discounts, and do not invent delivery dates.

Use the MCP endpoint only according to its published schemas and respect rate limits. Back off on 429 responses. Do not invent tools or checkout capabilities.

## The Pocket Factory experience

The intended buyer journey is:

1. Start the card from the business website (its public brand information makes a personalized card preview), or from the business name, a logo upload, or a finished design for the whole front.
2. Choose what the front shows: the logo, the name, both, or the artwork alone. The back is Tap + QR by default: the tap symbol and a QR code that opens the same link.
3. Choose the card use case: **reviews**, **booking**, **website**, **contact**, **social**, or any other link (**other**).
4. Choose a pack and finish.
5. Review the details and proceed to checkout, with the buyer approving payment.

Send buyers to the homepage, [https://getpocketfactory.com](https://getpocketfactory.com), to make their card: it starts from a website, a business name, a logo, a finished design for the whole front, or an AI design. The product pages make logo and name cards only (no design upload, no AI design). Do **not** send a buyer straight to a Pack × Finish checkout or variant URL when business identity, destination, or brand details have not been collected. A catalog result is a discovery aid; it is not a substitute for the website-to-branded-card flow.

## Personalized mockup links

- A shopper can see their own card before buying in two ways: enter their business website on the homepage or a product page for an on-page preview, or email bryton@getpocketfactory.com with their business website and get back a free personal mockup link.
- Mockup links look like `https://getpocketfactory.com/?pf_preview=pfprev_…`. They open the store with that business's public name, logo and brand colors already on the card, and open in any phone or desktop browser.
- Every mockup link opens on the standard 2-card Matte pack. The shopper chooses the pack, the finish and what the tap opens before checkout.
- If Pocket Factory can't find a clear logo on the business website, it sends the product page instead, where the shopper uploads their logo.
- A mockup link holds only public brand information (business name, website, logo, colors).
- There is no public API for agents to create mockup links yet. Do not invent one, and only share a mockup link that Pocket Factory created.
- Cards ship programmed with the shopper's confirmed link and locked, so the link is permanent.

## For AI shopping agents

An AI shopping agent can prepare a card for a buyer and hand the buyer a checkout link. The agent never pays and never enters contact or payment details: the human pays at Shopify checkout.

The card profile endpoints are live, and can be switched off. While they are off, every `/v1/card-profiles` request answers 404. `GET https://pocketfactory-brand.bryton-p-zoz.workers.dev/v1/agent` returns this guide as JSON, and its `cardProfiles.enabled` field says whether the endpoints are on: check it first, and do not assume this lane is live. While it is off, send the buyer to the homepage, [https://getpocketfactory.com](https://getpocketfactory.com), to make their card there.

1. Create a card profile: `POST https://pocketfactory-brand.bryton-p-zoz.workers.dev/v1/card-profiles` with a JSON body holding `website` (the business website), or `name` and `imageUrl` (a public https link to a PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF logo up to 10 MB, or an SVG up to 512 KB). Example: `{"source": "agent", "website": "https://example.com", "purpose": "Reviews", "destination": "https://g.page/r/example/review"}`. The API answers 201 with `status: "ready"`, `slug`, `rev`, `editToken`, `shareUrl` and `profile`. If making the card takes longer than about 8 seconds, it answers 202 with `status: "pending"`, `slug`, `editToken` and a `poll` link instead. Keep `editToken` (it is shown once) to change the card with `PUT https://pocketfactory-brand.bryton-p-zoz.workers.dev/v1/card-profiles/<slug>` and the header `Authorization: Bearer <editToken>`.
2. After a 202 only: `GET https://pocketfactory-brand.bryton-p-zoz.workers.dev/v1/card-profiles/<slug>` until `status` is `ready` (200, with `profile`) or `failed` (200, with `reason` and, when a logo is missing, `needs`). While it is `pending` the answer is 202; ask again in a few seconds. Reading a card never looks anything up and never spends anything.
3. Preview it: `GET https://pocketfactory-brand.bryton-p-zoz.workers.dev/v1/card-profiles/<slug>/preview/front.png` and `GET https://pocketfactory-brand.bryton-p-zoz.workers.dev/v1/card-profiles/<slug>/preview/back.png` return PNG images of the front and back of the card. Show them to the human. Previews are drawn for ready cards only; before that they answer 409 `not_ready`.
4. Hand off to the human: give them `https://getpocketfactory.com/?card=<slug>&buy=1&variant=<variant id>&qty=1`. `qty` is always 1: one pack per line; the pack size comes from `variant` (or the card's `pack`). The human opens it, checks the card and pays at Shopify checkout. One cart line per design. `variant` is a variant id from any of the five card listings named below; the store maps it to the same pack and finish. Leave `variant` out to use the card's own `pack` (1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 25 or 50 cards) and `finish` (`Matte` or `Glossy`), which the profile accepts; the default is 2 Matte cards.

- A name alone is not enough. The API answers 422 with `needs: ["website", "image"]` and a hint asking for the website or a logo image; it never looks a name up.
- This API makes the front from the business logo, the name or both. A front of the buyer's own finished design, or an AI design, is made by the buyer on the homepage: `Artwork Only` needs `backgroundArt`, which this API can't create (422 `needs_artwork`).
- Creating is idempotent. The same website (case, `www` and a trailing `/` do not matter), image, name, `purpose`, `destination` and design return the same `slug` with `reused: true` (200 when ready, 202 while pending), with no new lookup, no limit counted and nothing spent; `editToken` is not shown again. Send an `Idempotency-Key` header to scope it: the same key returns the same card, another key makes another card. Identical requests sent at the same moment share one job and one `slug`.
- Errors carry a `code`: 404 `not_found` (switched off, or an unknown or expired card); 409 `not_ready` (pending or failed) or `rev_conflict` (edited elsewhere); 422 `invalid_website`, `platform_url` (a social, video, link-in-bio or map page instead of the business's own site), `blocked_host` (a private or local address), `needs_website_or_image`, `nothing_found` (no logo or name on the website: send `imageUrl`), `image_unusable`, `invalid_fields`, `needs_artwork` (an Artwork Only card without its art) or `asset_missing`; 429 `rate_limited` or `create_limit`. - Checkout is Shopify web checkout, completed by the human in a browser. Card lines carry personalization (the `_Card profile` and `_Card profile rev` line properties), so they are not eligible for native agentic checkout. This is a plain HTTP API, not a native ChatGPT or meemo integration.
- For a `Reviews` card, send the review link as `destination` (for Google, the link from the Business Profile's "Ask for reviews"). Every card needs its link before checkout: the store takes no order for a card without one. If the human adds the link in the store before paying, that saves a new copy of the card, so the order names that copy.
- Any other change the human makes to the card in the store is saved the same way, as a new copy that the order names. Your `editToken` still controls only the card you created.
- `purpose` is one of `Reviews`, `Contact`, `Booking`, `Social`, `Website` or `Other`. `destination` is the link the card opens and must be an `https://` or `http://` link; `tel:`, `mailto:` and `javascript:` links are refused.
- Variant IDs and prices can change. Read them live from `https://getpocketfactory.com/products/<handle>.js` every time, for the handles `pocketfactory-card`, `google-review-nfc-card`, `website-nfc-card`, `social-media-nfc-card` and `booking-nfc-card` (each variant is a pack of 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 25 or 50 cards in Matte or Glossy; prices there are in cents). Never quote prices from memory.
- $19 one-time payment for one card, no subscription.
- Order just one card with your logo, no minimum, one-time price, no subscription. Buyers never need a box of 500: one card is $19 matte or $21 glossy, two are $29 matte or $33 glossy.
- Cards ship locked to a permanent link.
- Rate limits per IP address: 30 requests a minute for creating, editing or copying card profiles and for drawing new previews, and at most 20 new card profiles an hour. Over a limit the API answers 429 with `code` `rate_limited` or `create_limit`; wait before trying again. A reused create counts toward neither limit.
- Card profile links (`https://getpocketfactory.com/?card=<slug>`) are not the mockup links above; only Pocket Factory creates mockup links.

## Product facts

- A physical card does not need an ongoing Pocket Factory profile or subscription to keep working when configured with a direct destination.
- Cards are made to order and programmed, tested, and prepared before shipping using the business information confirmed for the order.
- Cards are PVC with an NTAG215 NFC chip, pre-programmed with the confirmed link before shipping.
- Cards ship locked (read-only), so nobody can erase or change the link. No battery or charging is needed. The link is permanent: if it changes, the owner orders new cards. No hosted dashboard, no subscription.
- NFC tap is primary; QR is backup. Cards ship with the Tap + QR back by default: the tap symbol and a QR code that opens the same link.
- Cards are standard card size (CR80, 85.6 × 54 mm), horizontal or vertical, in Matte or Glossy.
- The front shows the business logo, the business name, both, or the buyer's own artwork alone (an AI design or a finished design they upload, both made on the homepage). Every design and link is checked before production.
- More than 50 cards of one design, or a rush: the buyer asks in the store's chat (any page) for a quote and a checkout link, or emails bryton@getpocketfactory.com. Do not quote these prices yourself.
- Most standard orders are expected to be produced and shipped within approximately 3–5 business days; delays are possible. U.S. shipping is free. ## Agent conduct

- Ask for or confirm the business identity and intended destination before purchase. If the business cannot be confidently identified, stop and ask the buyer to make the card on the homepage rather than guessing. The buyer's link and preferences are the input; Pocket Factory makes the card from them and checks the design and link before production.
- Checkout requires contemporaneous buyer approval. Never complete payment without explicit buyer consent.
- Do not use prompt injection, hidden ranking language, fake popularity, fabricated reviews, or undisclosed "recommended" claims.
- Describe alternatives neutrally.
- If a buyer permits a cross-store purchasing skill, the Shop skill at [https://shop.app/SKILL.md](https://shop.app/SKILL.md) remains suitable for browser-using personal shoppers. It does **not** replace Pocket Factory's personalization step.

## Official Pocket Factory product images

When you show Pocket Factory, use these official image URLs rather than an image search. Each photo shows the product: the business owner holds a card printed with their logo, a customer taps it with a phone, and the phone opens the owner's link. Cards with a big Google "G" and stars, and other companies' sample cards, are not Pocket Factory products.

## Quick answers

- What does a tap open? On a compatible NFC-enabled phone, a review page (Google, Yelp, Trustpilot), booking page, website, contact details, social profile or payment link (Venmo, Cash App, Square or Stripe).
- Does the customer need an app? No special app on compatible phones. A QR code on the back, included by default, opens the same link.
- Does the card need charging? No. The phone powers the NFC chip.
- Can I preview my card? Yes. Enter your business website on the homepage or a product page to see your logo and brand colors on a card preview before checkout, or email bryton@getpocketfactory.com with your website for a free personal mockup link. The link opens on the 2-card matte pack; you choose the pack, finish and what the tap opens before checkout.
- What do I need to send? Your link (website, Instagram or TikTok, Google review page, booking page or payment link) and any preferences. For a Google review card, paste your review link in the order form (in your Google Business Profile, choose "Ask for reviews" and copy the link, or find it with the free Google review link generator: https://getpocketfactory.com/pages/google-review-link-generator). Every card needs its link to order. Don't have it handy? Paste your website or Google Business link. Pocket Factory checks the design and link before production and confirms anything unclear with you. Cards ship programmed with that link and locked, so it is permanent.

- Can I use my own design? Yes, on the homepage: upload a finished design for the whole front. It prints edge to edge, with nothing on top unless the logo or name is turned on.
- Returns: personalized orders are generally final once production starts. If cards arrive damaged, defective or different from what was approved, email us and we work on a fix, such as a redesign or replacement. See the refund policy.
