The fastest way to turn "let's stay in touch" into an actual saved contact is to make saving your details a one-tap action in the moment. A tap-to-contact card opens your vCard or contact page on their phone instantly — no typing, no app to download, no paper card to lose in a bag. Verbal promises evaporate; paper cards get trashed; a tap that saves your number takes three seconds and survives the evening.
Why "let's connect" almost never works
After a networking event, the average attendee has a stack of paper cards and a head full of names they will not remember by morning. Our companion post, I collected 40 business cards at the conference — and followed up with zero of them, walks through the recipient side of the same problem. The fix is the same in both directions: remove every step between the introduction and the saved contact.
4 ways to exchange contact info, compared
| Method | Steps for the other person | Survives the night? | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paper business card | Keep card, type details later | Rarely — most get lost or trashed | ~$0.30–0.42/card (MOO, checked Oct 20, 2026), plus reprints |
| Verbal "let's connect on LinkedIn" | Remember your name, find you later | Almost never | Free — and worth about that |
| Free digital card app (Blinq, HiHello) | Scan your QR or tap link, save contact | Yes, if you show it in person | Free tier (their published pricing) |
| Tap-to-contact card | Tap phone to card, save vCard | Yes | $19 one-time, no subscription |
How to set up a tap-to-contact card
- Pick your destination link. A vCard download link or a contact page works best — the goal is a saved contact, not just a website visit. (See also: people forget my name 10 seconds after we meet.)
- Get the card made from your branding. Ours are done-for-you: your logo and brand colors on the card. Cards have NFC tap, and a printed QR backup is included by default.
- At the event, tap — don't hand. Hold the card to their phone. Their browser opens your contact. Three seconds, done.
- Ship locked. Our cards ship locked and read-only, so the link you programmed is the link everyone taps.
Honest alternatives
- Free digital card apps (Blinq, HiHello): genuinely free tiers, no hardware. You have to open the app and show your QR — slightly more friction, but $0.
- A QR code to your vCard, printed on anything: free to generate, works on every phone. Same in-person problem as the apps: you must display it.
- Ask for their number and text first: the highest-conversion free move. You control the follow-up. Awkward at scale, perfect one-on-one.
Pricing: one card is $19 one-time — no monthly fee. Packs: 2/$29, 3/$39, 5/$59, 10/$109, 25/$229, 50/$399. Cards have NFC tap, and a printed QR backup is included by default. Matte finish included; Glossy is +$2 per card. Free US shipping. Ships in 3–5 business days.

FAQ
Does the other person need an app to save my contact?
No. A tap opens their phone browser — no app on either side.
What if their phone doesn't have NFC?
A printed QR backup is included by default, so a phone that can't tap can scan it with a compatible camera or QR-scanning app.
Can they reprogram my card?
No. Cards ship locked and read-only.
