Takeout and delivery customers never see your table cards, so the ask has to travel with the food or wait at the pickup counter. Pocket Factory makes an NFC card with your restaurant's logo that opens one link: your Google review page or your own online ordering page. One card is $19 and ten are $109, one-time, ships from the USA. This guide explains which link to choose, why a tap card belongs at the pickup shelf while a printed QR belongs in delivery bags, and how to ask without breaking Google's review rules.

Why off-premise guests leave fewer reviews
Dine-in guests get a server, a check presenter and time at the table. Takeout and delivery guests get a bag. Pickup customers are in and out in under a minute, and delivery customers often never speak to anyone from your restaurant. If the app they ordered through asks them to rate the order, that rating stays inside the app and doesn't show on your Google Business Profile.
So there are two separate jobs, and each card opens one link:
- Reviews: get happy off-premise guests to your Google review page.
- Order direct: get regulars who found you on a delivery app to order through your own ordering page next time.
Pick the job that matters most to you right now, or use two cards in two places.
Where each piece goes
| Spot | What to use | Link it opens | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pickup shelf or handoff counter | Tap card in a stand or taped flat at the shelf | Google review page | Pickup guests stand there for a few seconds with their phone already out. One card serves every pickup, so cost isn't an issue |
| Register, for phone-in pickup orders | Tap card | Your own online ordering page | "Next time, tap here and order straight from us" works best with guests who called in |
| Delivery bags | Printed QR sticker or flyer | Ordering page or Google review page | A tap card in every bag is too expensive ($10.90 each in a 10-pack). Paper is the right tool here |
| Catering and large orders | Tap card in the order | Google review page or catering inquiry page | A big order is worth a $10.90 card, and the office manager may keep it for the next order |
For the review link, use Google's own share option (Google Business Profile Help: create a link or QR code to request reviews) or our Google review link generator. Test the finished card with a phone that isn't signed into your business account.
What to say at the pickup counter
Staff at the handoff have about five seconds. Short lines work:
- "Thanks for picking up. If you enjoy it, tap here and leave us a Google review."
- "Ordered through an app? Tap this and you can order straight from us next time."
Say the same line to every guest. Google's rules don't allow offering anything in exchange for a review, or asking only the guests who look happy (Google's policy on incentivized reviews). The U.S. FTC rule on consumer reviews and testimonials also bans fake reviews and reviews bought with incentives tied to a positive rating.
Order direct: what to point the card at
The card can open whatever ordering page you already run: the online ordering page from your POS provider, an ordering page on your website, or your menu page with a phone number for call-in orders. We can't tell you what you'll save, because delivery app fees depend on your plan; check your own statements. The card's job is only to make ordering direct as easy as opening the app.
Because Pocket Factory cards are locked, choose a link you'll keep. A page on your own website that holds your current ordering link is the safest choice: if you switch ordering systems, you update the page, and the card keeps working.
Takeout card vs table card vs QR sign
| Option | Best for | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Tap card at pickup | Pickup and call-in guests | Guests have to pass the counter, so it doesn't reach delivery |
| Printed QR in delivery bags | Delivery guests | Cheap per bag, but guests have to open the camera and scan |
| Table card | Dine-in guests | Diners rave but Google reviews stay empty covers the dine-in side |
| Receipt QR or URL | Every order | Easy to ignore; most receipts go straight in the bag |

FAQ
How do I get takeout customers to leave Google reviews?
Put a tap card that opens your Google review link at the pickup shelf, and have staff use one short line with every guest. For delivery, put a printed QR code in the bag. Don't offer a discount for reviews; Google doesn't allow it.
Should I put an NFC card in every delivery bag?
Usually no. At $10.90 per card in a 10-pack, a printed QR sticker or flyer is the better choice for delivery bags. Use tap cards at the pickup counter and in large catering orders.
Can one card ask for a review and take orders?
One card opens one link. Use one card for reviews at the pickup shelf and another at the register for ordering, or link one card to a simple page on your site that offers both.
Do delivery app ratings count as Google reviews?
No. Ratings left inside a delivery app stay in that app. Your Google Business Profile only shows reviews left on Google.
Will the card work on any phone?
It opens on iPhone XS and newer and on NFC-enabled Android phones without an app. Add the QR backup for phones that don't read NFC.
Can I change the link later?
No. Locked so it can't be erased or overwritten. It keeps working for years. If your link changes, order new cards with the new link.
