Car Detailing Business Cards That Get Google Reviews and Bookings

Design my NFC card

Short answer: A car detailing business card should do one job at the moment the customer is happiest: open your Google review page or your booking page. The practical setup is one tap card per tech, carried on the keyring and tapped to the customer's phone during the final walk-around, with a QR on the back as a backup.

What should a car detailing business card actually do?

A paper card with a phone number gets put in a cupholder and forgotten. The card that earns its keep does a single, specific job in the minute after you hand the keys back: it puts your Google review page or your booking page on the customer's own screen while they are still looking at the paint. That is when they say "this looks brand new," and it is the only time a review or a rebook is close to automatic.

So decide what each card is for before you order. A card can open one link. For most detailers that means one of two pages:

  • Your Google review page (the direct "write a review" link from your Business Profile), for the walk-around after every job.
  • Your booking page, for locking in the next maintenance wash or the next full detail before you pull away.

Paper cards, a tap card, or both?

Card Who holds it Best moment What it opens
Printed paper cards (a stack) The customer, a friend they pass it to, a partner shop counter When someone asks "got a card?" Your phone number and a QR to your booking page or Instagram
Tap card (NFC + QR) You or your tech, every day, on the keyring or in the van The final walk-around, before payment wraps up Your Google review page or your booking page
Both Paper for handing out, tap card kept by the tech Handout when asked, tap at every handoff Review or booking at handoff; contact info for referrals

A tap card is not a replacement for a box of 500 paper cards, and it should not be left in every car. At roughly $8 to $21 a card, that math never works. It is the card your tech keeps and uses dozens of times a week.

How many cards does a detailing business need?

One per person who hands cars back, plus a spare for the van. A solo mobile detailer usually wants two: a review card and a booking card, which is the two-card option at $29. A shop with three bays and a front counter might keep one review card at the counter and one per tech.

How the tap card works at a detail

  1. Pick the link. Copy the direct review link from your Google Business Profile ("Ask for reviews"), or copy your booking page link. Our review link generator helps if you can't find it.
  2. Order the card with your logo. The card is programmed with that link and ships locked, so use a link you plan to keep.
  3. Tap it at the walk-around. Hold the card near the back of the customer's phone (the top edge on an iPhone); the page opens in their browser. If their phone doesn't respond, they scan the QR printed on the card.

Which Pocket Factory card fits which job?

Both start at $19 for one matte card, $59 for five, $109 for ten. No app for you or the customer, no monthly fee. Cards ship from the USA. Most standard orders are expected to be produced and shipped within approximately 3–5 business days; delays are possible. No battery or charging is needed.

For detailers: the card you hand over after the detail.

Send us your Google review link or your booking link when you order. We put your logo on the front, a QR backup on the back, and program the card to open that link. At the walk-around, tap it to the customer's phone and the page opens, with no app. One card is $19 matte or $21 glossy, and two matte cards are $29, one-time. Ships from the USA; most standard orders are expected to be produced and shipped within approximately 3–5 business days; delays are possible. No battery or charging is needed.

What about a car wash or a fixed shop?

A wash with a pay window or a shop with a counter can keep a card at the counter and let customers tap while they pay. The job is the same: one card, one link, used at the moment the car looks its best. Mobile detailers have it slightly easier, because the walk-around happens face to face every time.

Rules that keep your reviews safe

  • Ask every customer, not only the ones who gushed. Google's review policies prohibit selectively asking for positive reviews.
  • Never trade a discount for a review. Incentivized reviews break Google's policies, and the FTC's 2024 rule on fake reviews covers buying them.
  • Let the customer write it on their own phone. Don't hand them your phone or a tablet.

More for detailers

Questions detailers ask

Can one card open both my review page and my booking page?

No. Each card opens one link. Detailers who want both carry two cards, a review card and a booking card.

Do customers need an app to use the card?

No. Phones with NFC open the link from a tap, and most phone cameras can scan the QR printed on the card.

Should I leave a card in every car I detail?

Not a tap card. Keep it on your keyring and tap it at the walk-around. Leave paper cards only when a customer asks for one.

Can I change the link later?

No. Pocket Factory cards ship locked to the link you order, so pick the review or booking link you plan to keep.

Is there a subscription?

No. It's a one-time purchase starting at $19 for one card.
