Short answer: For a detailer, an NFC tap card fits the moment you hand the car back, because you put the review or booking page on the customer's phone yourself. A printed QR is the cheap backup and belongs on paper leave-behinds. A windshield hanger only makes sense for cars you return while the owner is away.
The short version
The right tool depends on whether the customer is standing next to you. If they are, a tap card wins, because you do the work of opening the page. If they aren't, you need something they can act on later, which means a printed QR or a texted link.

| Option | Price | Can you change the link? | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pocket Factory tap card (NFC + QR, your logo) | $19 matte or $21 glossy for one; $59 for five, $109 for ten (matte); one-time | No, ships locked to your link | Techs who hand cars back in person | Order it with a link you'll keep |

When a tap card is the right call
- You or your tech do a walk-around with the customer present.
- You want the review or booking page open on their phone before you leave.
- You'd rather not pay monthly for review software just to open one link.
When a QR or a text is the better call
- The car is dropped off and picked up without you there.
- You print invoices or thank-you cards anyway, and a QR adds nothing to the cost.
- You need to change the destination often. Then a dynamic service, or simply texting the link, suits you better than a locked card.
A note on "review filtering"
Some review tools offer a step that asks customers how the visit went and sends only happy ones on to Google. Google's policies prohibit discouraging or selectively soliciting reviews, so be careful with any feature that screens customers before they can post. A plain link to your review page, offered to everyone, is the safe setup.
Does NFC work on every phone?
Most current iPhones and Android phones read NFC, but not every phone does, and some have it switched off. That's why the card carries a printed QR to the same page. If neither works, text the link.
What detailers usually end up with
A tap card per tech for the walk-around, the same link saved as a text shortcut, and a QR on paper materials. See the Google review card and the booking card to compare the two jobs. A printed QR backup is included by default on every Pocket Factory card, so you don't need a separate QR sticker. Current prices for one card and for crew packs are on our pricing page, and our car detailing business cards page shows how detailers set them up.
More for detailers
Questions detailers ask
Is an NFC card better than a QR code for detailing reviews?
At an in-person handoff, yes, because you open the page for the customer. For cars returned unattended, a QR or a texted link works better.
Do NFC review cards need a subscription?
Not necessarily. Pocket Factory cards are a one-time purchase. Some competitors add optional paid software.
Can I change where the card points?
Pocket Factory cards ship locked to one link. Dynamic cards from other sellers can be redirected through their dashboards.
What if the customer's phone doesn't read NFC?
They scan the QR printed on the card, or you text them the link.
Are windshield hangers OK for detailers?
On your customers' cars, yes. On strangers' cars, no.
