To set up a Google review NFC card, get your Google review link, write it to the card, then test-tap it on an iPhone and an Android phone. You can program a blank NTAG card yourself with the free NFC Tools app in about five minutes, or order a Pocket Factory card that arrives pre-programmed with your Google review link and your logo for a $19 one-time payment for one card (no subscription, no monthly fee), so there's nothing to set up.
For reviews, the link is your Google write-a-review page. Pocket Factory: Your business logo on a card. Tap it, it opens your link. The link can be your website, Instagram, Google reviews, booking page, menu or pay link. It's an NFC card with an NTAG215 chip, pre-programmed with your URL, from $19, and you can order just one, with no app or subscription.
Buying a ready-made card instead of programming one? How to set up a Google review NFC card in 3 steps
Setting up a Google review NFC card takes three steps: copy your Google review link from your Business Profile, write that link to the card — yourself with a free app, or order the card pre-programmed — then test the tap on an iPhone and an Android phone before you put the card out. No paid app or card subscription is needed; copying the review link from your Google Business Profile requires signing in to the Google Account that manages it.
Step 1: Get your Google review link
On a computer, open your Google Business Profile, select Read Reviews, then Get more reviews, and click Copy (Google Business Profile Help: Create a Google link or QR code to request reviews). That link opens the write-a-review box for your exact location. No profile access handy? Use our free Google review link generator to find it from your business name. Open the link in a private browser window to check it lands on the right business.
Step 2: Program it yourself: blank NTAG card + NFC Tools (DIY)
Buy a blank NTAG213 or NTAG215 card (for example a GoToTags blank NTAG213 PVC card, sold in packs of 10 at $0.30 each when checked October 17, 2026, 9:07 AM ET). Install the free NFC Tools app (NFC Tools on the App Store, NFC Tools on Google Play). In the app, tap Write, Add a record, choose URL/URI, paste your Google review link, then tap Write and hold the card to the back of your phone. Test it, and only lock the card (make it read-only) after it works, because locking can't be undone. The DIY card is blank white unless you print or sticker it yourself.
Step 3: Or skip programming: order a Pocket Factory card pre-programmed with your logo, $19
Paste your review link (or just give us your business name and location) when you order. We put your business logo on a PVC card, program the NTAG215 chip with your Google review link, tap-test it and ship it, so there's nothing to set up when it arrives. It's $19 for one matte card ($21 glossy), cards have a QR code backup on the back by default, U.S. shipping is free and most standard orders are expected to be produced and shipped within approximately 3–5 business days; delays are possible.

Test it before you hand it out
- On a compatible NFC-enabled iPhone or Android phone, hold the card near the phone’s NFC reader and open the notification or link prompt if one appears. On Android, make sure NFC is enabled.
- If your card has a printed QR code, scan it with a compatible camera or QR scanner and open the link. A printed QR backup is included by default on Pocket Factory cards (the Tap + QR back).
- Check that each available route leads to the review flow for the same business and address. Google requires reviewers to sign into a Google Account, so a sign-in prompt alone does not mean the card is programmed incorrectly.
- If a route opens the wrong business or an unrelated page, compare the encoded or printed URL with the review link copied from your Business Profile. You do not need to publish a review to test the link.
Taps fail most often through thick or metal phone cases, metal stands under the card, or holding the card against the wrong spot on the phone. Phone details: Apple's Core NFC documentation and Android's NFC documentation.
If your test tap does not open the review page, follow our NFC card troubleshooting guide to check phone settings, tap position, interference and the destination link.

Honest take: if you just want to try a tap card at one register this week, a blank card and NFC Tools is the cheapest way — compare Google review card prices across makers before you buy. If the card is going on your counter in front of customers, you'll probably want your logo on it and someone else to program and test it. That's what we sell.
Where to put it and what to say
Hand the card over at the happy moment: at checkout, at pickup, at the end of an appointment. Use the same short line for every customer, such as "If you have 30 seconds, this card opens our Google review page." Google doesn't allow offering anything in exchange for reviews (Google's policy on incentivized reviews; Google Maps user-generated content policy), so don't pair the card with discounts. FAQ
How do I program a Google NFC card?
Copy your Google review link (Business Profile → Read Reviews → Get more reviews → Copy), open the free NFC Tools app, tap Write → Add a record → URL/URI, paste the link, tap Write and hold a blank NTAG213 or NTAG215 card to your phone. Test on iPhone and Android before you lock it. If you'd rather not program anything, a Pocket Factory card arrives pre-programmed with your link and your logo for $19.
Can I change the link later?
On a DIY card, yes: rewrite it with NFC Tools any time until you lock it. Pocket Factory cards are programmed and tap-tested for you, and they ship locked, so the link can't be erased or overwritten. If your link changes later, order new cards. Tip: if you expect the destination to change, put a link you control (like a page on your website) on the card. Details: Can I change the link on my card?.
How do I set up a Google review NFC card?
Get your Google review link, write it to the card (yourself with a blank NTAG card and NFC Tools, or order a Pocket Factory card that arrives pre-programmed), then test-tap it on iPhone and Android and check it opens your write-a-review box.
Which NFC chip do I need for a Google review card?
Any NTAG213, NTAG215 or NTAG216 card works. A Google review link is short, so NTAG213's 144 bytes is plenty. Pocket Factory cards use NTAG215.
Do customers need an app to tap it?
No. iPhone XS and newer read NFC cards without an app, and Android phones with NFC turned on open the link in the browser. Only the person programming a blank card needs an app.
Do I need a subscription for a Google review card?
No. A card written with your direct Google review link opens Google on its own, with no monthly fee. Pocket Factory is a one-time purchase from $19.
